What you get with Champs-Elysées Plus
Champs-Elysées Plus adds two Study Supplements to the basic subscription, making it ideal for lower-intermediate French speakers and anyone who wishes to make more rapid progress with their French. The first additional element is an intermediate French language CD or cassette--your choice--with audio exercises to help you with comprehension and vocabulary building. Several features from the program are read at a slower pace to make them easier to understand. After each segment is a series of audio exercises to help you consolidate your comprehension of the feature. Audio Flash Cards™ of key words and expressions in the program make it easy to build vocabulary and improve your accent. And just for fun, there's a bonus feature--in English--that explores various aspects of the French language. Like the main program Champs-Elysées, the audio exercises are portable, so you can fit them conveniently into your busy life. Work on them anywhere you can take an audio player, and see how quickly your fluency improves!
The printed workbook contains lists of the Audio Flash Cards so you can see how the words and phrases are spelled. There is also a summary in English of each feature in that issue of Champs-Elysées, so you'll have an idea of what to listen for. In addition, (starting with issue 22-09) the four features covered in the Champs-Elysées Plus audio CD and supplement booklet also come with a complete translation set out at the back of the booklet. The translations are fairly literal, but they offer subscribers, especially those learners with a more basic level, another way to get the most out of the rich program content. Postlistening exercises consisting of multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, true-false, and matching questions firm up your grasp of French grammar. And since every component of Champs-Elysées is designed to make learning French enjoyable, there are special exercises to entertain and exercise the mind. An answer key is included.
